Concern- Compliment- Comment

Will owners question the spending of their money for two managers acting as GM for three and a half months? Can any owner argue that these two salaried managers don’t deserve receiving a bonus for their 105 days worth of additional obligations when after last year’s hurricane, salaried management were awarded over $11,000 for their 5 day additional effort?

If they do ask questions, will it include if this generous bonus of undisclosed proportions is for what these managers did or was it a cost for what our ex Gm and Aramark didn’t do.

Will anyone add an inquiry if two day notices of retirement from Aramark employees holding the most important management positions are long enough to find a replacement? Does Aramark condone these notices in believing that it is in the best interest to their clients? One would think not but then again one might also think Aramark should have policies they enforce not to allow two day notices like this to happen at all?

Why on earth with ARAMARK having in their words approximately 260,000 employees serving clients in this field, did it take over 60 days to find a minuscule number (4) of GM candidates to choose from?

Should the question be raise of why our Board didn’t feel it necessary to demand his stay until the replacement was found?

One wonders when will this Park start to hold Aramark and their $100,000+ annual fee for managerial support a wee bit more accountable for actions or non-actions.

Owners wish to know if they paid Aramark for any GM services or related expenses (e.g. vacation, sick, bonus, or severance days) from May through August 2009? Did Park owners contribute to the new manager’s relocation costs or is it Aramark’s responsibility since it was their employee who decided to retire attached with their blessing? Concerned owners feel they deserve to know all expenses they pay for and what has been the total price tag to replace this retired GM starting from when he gave his two day notice.

Should not all Park expenditures using Villager’s money have total transparency?

You make the call!

$11,000 for 2 managers - $5,500 in bonus each for just 5 days extra effort after hurricane!? Over $1000 per day? Holy crap, this is unbelievable.

I'm afraid to hear how much the latest bonuses were.

The Board is about transparent as the new regime in Washington D.C..

There's no way Armando deserved a bonus - he did nothing more than sit and smoke for years. Maybe it was good for him to move around.

Re: $11,000 bonus.

Forget after the hurricane, what did they do to help before and during Dolly. And just how much did Aramark charge us for the "free frood"??

Re: 2nd comment....You are so right.
PB might as well as have made the statement Nancy Polisi made "We won and there is nothing you can do". Realize this was not Nancy's exact words, but close enough.

If in fact Aramark allowed LD to "quit" with just 2 days notice (remember, he did not work for them long enough to retire)then shame on them....but if in fact Aramark fired him to save us from further losses, then I support them.

LD & AZ are salaried employees. That means they get paid the same whether they work 30 hrs. a week or 80 hrs. a week. A salaried person should not ever put in for overtime. If they received a bonus from us it should have been voted on by the board & made known to all of us. I don't believe for a minute the board voted them an $11,000. bonus! If they received a bonus..one might think it had to be thru the manipulation of the Dolly payroll. Hummm...maybe, when Aramark did that internal audit just before LD "left", such manipulations were discovered?

forget it! why keep roiling the community? Do we want this to return to our EDEN? Will this help us get there? Is this blog really in our best interests bringing up this type of thing? I think not!! No matter which, sic; side you lined up with, lets get on with our lives and not live in the past! We need to come together and become neighbors and friends again ,this is not going to help!!

Re: forget it!

Getting back to Eden or at least a friendly place to live would be great. Unless you agree with PB et al it will never happen. The bonuses were given under PB direction. Need I say more. LD & CD along with their SGG group has soured LIV for quite some time. As long as PB remains president of the BOD there will be very little change. Don't forget it won't long until the BOD election. I think LD or CD will run and will get on teh board.

RE:forget it! why keep roiling the community?

What in the world are you talking about returning to our Eden? Money issues are a fact of life and I for one would like to know how my condo fees are spent. I don’t see how this article talking about the business side of Eden towards current and past money spending concerns is affecting my friendships and keeping me from being neighborly. Most owners can take this article for the way I see it, as information. It sounds like you need a big hug.

re "Did Park owners contribute to the new manager’s relocation costs or is it Aramark’s responsibility"

These costs should be disclosed, because relocation costs could be quite substantial - many corporate relocation benefits include some very expensive items beyond the cost of the moving van, costs which could amount to TENS of THOUSANDS of LIV dollars.

For example:
- Home sales assistance
- House hunting expenses
- Meals, Hotel, and other travel expenses
- Rental assistance
- Lease-break assistance for renters
- Home finding assistance
- Mortgage assistance
- Household goods moving
- Automobile moving / mileage
- Temporary Living
- Spousal career assistance
- School finding/elder care assistance

re: Is this blog really in our best interests bringing up this type of thing?

Yes, it's instrumental in presenting LIV with perspectives OTHER than the board's. And many "hidden" things have been brought to light through this blog, things which the board or management might prefer to be kept quiet!

Heaven forbid if LD or CD were to be elected to the BOD.
Talk about chaos.

What an idea!!! I would vote for either/both of them!!! LD and CE for BOD 2010!!! Let's start a campaign!!!

Oh, sorry!...I SHOULD HAVE BEEN YELLING!
