Adios Alex!
LIV came through with flying colors. Just palm stuff, shingles, and skirting around. Water line break by Oyster and Scallop.
Thank you to the Safety/Hurricane Committee for having things in order. Great Job!

I don't think I've ever seen any two people work harder to help LIV owners when it really counted --they were relentless in helping to clean up properties and inform owners last year and they're back doing the same after Alex. Thanks for all your help Ed and Jennnie McBride!!!!!!!

Many of us love the idea that PB resigned, but let's not lose ourselves in gleeful happiness. The brains behind the brawny bully will not just fade away. We should all be watchful of who will rise from PB's ashes.

Great job Safety/Hurricane Committee. Communication was right on.

Thanks to all who are cleaning up and watching over our properties. Thank goodness PB was gone and the Hurricane committee could do it's job--wonderfully! Thank you Ed McBride for leading and Jennie for all the updates--you are both an asset to LIV!

happy she's gone said...

I read the newsletter and was surprised that there was no editorial or manager's comment on the firing of PB! Don't the owners have a right to details on the situation? There's a blurp about it in the minutes and that's it. None of the big shots have nothing to say??

Great group at Karaoke on Sat, July 3. There were even Karaoke Tailgaters. What fun.
We'll be doing it again Sat July 10

PB RESIGNED. Hallelujah! What else needs to be said? Nothing!

The bully is back. She and Bill Gagan harassed some people who were stuck in the Village during Alex and were in the Rec Hall because they felt safer there. Not good!

it is REALLY sad that you live such a small life!! you need to see a shrink!!

Geeeeeez! I thought I was in the Men's room at the Chicago airport, what a whizzing contest our Past Prez initiated and Ms. CD really was a hit with her "hit list"! Get a life folks, especially those with their house for sale!

Any of our winter friends currently living "up north" can keep abreast of conditions in the valley by by visiting websites of the local newspapers or tv stations.

I'm a winter friend and I really hate what I see here. You all sound mean and nasty and angry. That's not what LIV is supposed to be about. I'm really anxious to get back to our place, but I'm very sad about the tone of the Village that I'm hearing here.

Anonymous said...

Amen to "I'm a winter friend ...."!! I own in LIV to get AWAY from all of life's pettiness. I don't need or want to hear the local gossip, the tit-for-tat political jabs, or juvenile rants. I DO need and want to hear (from an honest and non-biased perspective )what's happening in the village that will affect my property, my investment, and my family. I suggest, if this site is to be credible & influential, that it upgrade it's criteria for publication: what is in the best interest of LIV vs. self (and/or selfish) interest?

To "Sorry":
If you are sad, you should be here and live with the constant and unrelenting attacks on good people trying to do their job(s) especially some members of the BOD and the Safety committee. Congratulations to Don Halbach for blowing ALL of the so-called greivances out of the water. Not one item was discussed at the Workshop for Board consideration. But the crap still goes on every chance the former GM and Prez get to throw it at anyone that is not "inline". The March election will be an opprotunity to right the wrongs created by the SOG gang and their law suit. One insulted owner has already looked into running for the board!!

Anonymous said...

What is going on in the village while you are gone/ Well we have thieves, already there have been two sets of golf clubs stolen right off the carts in their own driveway.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the warning about thieves in the Village. Now I know I need to be more careful with my own belongings AND we all should be much more watchful of what's happening on our little streets. Let's catch them red-handed and prosecute damn crooks by keeping a vigilant eye! In this case, we ARE our brother's keeper!

Anonymous said...

Sadly, our village has changed! Someone from the Board should make sure that theft warnings are put on channel 18 so people can take precautions! I have no tolerance for thieves! They should be tarred and feathered on the spot, so they better hope they don't hit MY neighborhood!

The vast majority of us are kind, neighborly people who live by the Golden Rule. As a rule we don't make a lot of noise so it's easy to forget we are here.
In all societies it is the "nasties" who use public forums to spread their ugliness.

Attention "Amen" sayer:
What you read here, that you call local gossip/juvenile jabs, plays out as directed attempts to destroy dedicated owners and/or their efforts to make this a better place to be and increase all the things you mention! It is hard to put into words what verbal assaults/insults are vocalized at the Coffee/Board meetings since the resignation of PB!
You would do yourself a favor and either come on down now or have a trusted friend who has NOT attended a recent meeting fill you in. One owner who is a Valley resident and owned here since the 1970's got a real eye-opener at the last coffee, the 1st one he had ever, in 30+ years, attended. When it gets to to point that you can upset an Ordained Deacon of the Catholic church, WOW!!!!
Only a major change in BOD to members with the attitude and skill to over-ride the crap and shut it down will bring an end to this onslaught. Some are trying but they need help! Mark the 1st Saturday in March on your calendar, and not for the Lunch!

re:thieves

can't blame the winter Texans for that!

Anonymous said...

RE: Attention "Amen" Sayer -- You missed the point. It doesn't mean we can't (or shouldn't) be angry. It means we either hurt our cause or help it by how we manage that anger. If this site is to be influential and credible to others, then we need to keep our anger in check and our eye "on the ball".

Anonymous said...

Anonymous RE Attention.......
The ball will be in OUR court come the first Saturday in March.
Changes will be the only means to stop the crap.
One of our biggest "summer problem generator's" is the means used by Winter Texans to finance their place here: RENTERS! Sane people seem to turn into idiots with no regards to the fact that they are GUESTS here, when they RENT. Those who rent OUTSIDE the rental office, apparently, are the worst, are virtually uncontrolable and apparently don't give a damn.
4 girls in a golf cart doing 360's down the street, in the dark, shouting that they are 16 and can drive the cart is a good, recent, illustration.
Since rentals outside the Welcome Center are in violation of the Covenent maybe this should be revisited in March?????

Anonymous said...

I say No rentals outside the rental office....

Anonymous said...

Away, away with the renters. They've been nothing but a nuisance and a drain on our resources for years. The owners who rent to them don't have to put up with it.

Anonymous said...

Re: "Summer problem generators"
I am absolutely fascinated. How in the world could you possibly know: #1. That those girls were not the children of owners? #2. That, if they were renters, they rented through the office? #3. That any problems in the park in the summer are created by renters who don't rent through the office? You must be a psychic..ha-ha....or a psycho!

Anonymous said...

When we were renters and called the office to rent they could give us no info. And the prices were outrageous.

Go check out the 'rental area' on the LIV website. Nothing there.

Anonymous said...

Anger and hate are the manure prejudice grows in.The owners that support stopping rentals in our village are a small group of impotent, selfrighteous, troublemakers.

Anonymous said...

Summer Problem Generators......
All you have to do is
1. Be here, follow them and/or make a few calls to see where the offenders are staying to determine if they are renting.
2.Check the log at Security!!!.
This is a problem that is unique to LIV since we have so many widespread amenities to "offend".
Partying parents contribute to the delinquency that we see and once again it is problem NOT created by the majority of renters but as usual a few messing it up and painting the group as a whole as "trouble"
Unfortunately you do not just take out the offenders to solve the problem(s) since we have very limited "policeing" power at LIV.

Anonymous said...

what is that livownersii.blogspot up top? it doesn't go anywhere. are you going to write about the july coffee?

Anonymous said...

I don't understand why LIV doens't follow the covenents and rent ONLY through the rental office. Why are they giving up that income? LIV gets a percentage of each rental done through the office. They (WE) get nothing when people rent on their own. I just don't get it.

Dear "Advantage?"
Perhaps the A.P.B. part of the new title went over your head, or something new needs a new start and a new, really neat, Blog page.
If A.P.B. offends you, you must have missed the last "coffee"
!!!!!! A truly stellar performance by the Past Prez and Minions!!!

OOPS!! I get it now All POINTS BULLETIN right?

Anonymous said...

I agree. Why do we allow rentals outside of the rental office. How many other places do this? Why is LIV giving up that percentage of each rental? Makes no sense at all. I think the original bylaws said you could only rent through the rental office. Why wasn't (isn't) this enforced?
